This is an infographic I made on Canva for outdoor resources for teachers.

This is the sketch note I made during class. It shows different words in Portuguese. My family is Portuguese and I am going to Portugal this summer so I want to practice my Portuguese more!

The SAMR Theory is a really awesome technique. I like how it shows how technology can increase in classrooms and how this happens. I did not realize these types of technologies were sorted out into specific sections but I really like how it is organized. I like how the substitution is a good start to bringing in new technologies without being too complicated but it does not make anything easier. Augmentation allows our work to be improved when we substitute technologies. Modification is really helpful but requires technology to significantly redesign a task. Lastly, Redefinition uses technology that creates new things that would not be able to be done again. I think knowing what this each mean is really helpful because then we can bring different components into our lessons and know what is being affected in are lessons when we do that.
I think sketchnoting is really helpful to anyone. I absolutely love sketchnoting and I have been doing it for as long as I can remember. I really love to draw so I think that sketch noting allows me to have a bit of fun when I am studying or doing things. I think by sketchnoting, there is a bit more purpose added to your notes. Sketchnoting allows students to visually connect concepts and create images that will help them remember the concepts as well. Drawing images can be super helpful because you will have to think about how you will synthesize what you are drawing into one image. For young primary grades from k-3 Sketchnoting could be used when learning how to spell new words. Students could draw images of the words they are learning so that then they have a better idea of what the words mean. Students could also sketch notes about their ideas from a story they read. As students at this age are not that good at writing, They can instead draw doodles and images and then a few key words that they know from the story. The teacher could even have a list of words that they need to include.

Hi Brooke,
I love your post and blog!! Two things that stood out to me were the layout of your infographic (it goes with your weekly inquiry posts I love it). As well as, your sketch noting and your reflection provided. Your overall blog structure is very engaging and eye-catching, ours is very similar so we should collab one week! I wonder if, in addition to your thoughtful paragraph on sketch noting adding some critiques could enhance and deepen your summary. As well as help the readers see the pros and cons.
Great post!! Looking forward to seeing more 🙂
